Performance Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Theatre Production Responsibilities
o Purchase all paint supplies needed, mix all colors needed, make sure scaled renderings are brought to fruition in production.
o Ensure students have the proper paint safety equipment including gloves, ventilation and non-toxic materials.
o Move all soft goods as needed for each production. Provide any additional stage rigging as needed such as the hanging of scenery over the stage.
o Work with the band director to set the stage arrangements of the band risers and the orchestra acoustical shell as needed for concerts.
o Provide all sound needs for productions (mics, playback equipment, sound reinforcement, monitors on stage, intercom communication, etc).
o Design all aspects of lighting for each production.
-- Meet with staff for each production to learn production specific needs.
-- Design the lighting plot for each production and order specific gel color and template patterns for the theatrical stage lights.
Includes cutting and installing all of the color and patterns in each light.
Hang and focus all stage lights for each production in accordance with industry standard safety measures including using safety cables on each instrument.
-- Ensure that all lighting instruments are powered and cabled correctly and safely.
-- Program the lighting console and set the lighting “looks” for each production and train students to run the lighting console and other lighting equipment as needed.
-- Work with the staff to build and properly run the budgets for each production.
-- Responsible for purchasing and getting the material to the theatre.
Events
• Create and manage the event calendar.
• Supervise the set up of all events using the stage.
• Coordinate with the facilities department to ensure the alarms are turned off and the AC is on for night and weekend events in the building.
• Setup audio & video equipment for class projects in the Black box theatre as needed by instructors.
• Supervise tool usage with students
• Provide safety equipment (glasses, gloves, ear plugs) to students
• Mix paint color for student class projects purchase shop supplies for production classes
Scene Shop
• Work closely with classes that use the scene shop for class.
• Maintain all scene shop equipment. (saws, compressors, man lift, ladders, hand tools)
• Create and maintain storage and organize props, costumes, lighting equipment
Lighting/ Sound
• Repair lighting instruments, broken cables/wires
• Maintain theatrical dimmers as well as the architectural dimmers
• Ensure that broken stage circuits are repaired/replaced as needed
• Program the architectural lighting “switches: in the theatre for easy use
• Maintain expendables inventory (theatrical tape, glow tape, spike tape, lamps, fuses, etc)
• Maintenance of sound cables and other supplies for mics (clips, batteries, etc.)
Facilities Use
• Meet with potential users to discuss their needs and give them a tour of the facility
• Facilitate activities.
• Provide the maintenance department lists of repairs that need to be made to the facility.
• Work with repair contractors on the theatre equipment when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree with Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the area of Visual and Performing Arts
