JOB TITLE: Transportation Paraprofessionals
REPORTS TO: Designated Administrator/Supervisor
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible assisting the bus driver in supervising students to and from school safely, maintaining order among children and assist driver in checking bus after each route and trip.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-
Hours worked will be determined by the Special Education Department on the basis of students needs.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
-
Verbal communication skills
-
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Problem solving abilities.
-
Knowledge of student discipline procedures.

Must have interest in and empathy for children.

Must have ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
.EQUIPMENT USED:
-
Must be able to use copy machine, classroom computers, audio visual aides, mobility support equipment, walkers, standing boxes, corner chairs, braces, hearing aids, wheelchairs, abductor blocks, augmentative communication devices, etc.
PHYSICAL INVOLVEMENT:

Must understand and interpret written and verbal instructions

Must be physically able to assist children when necessary for the child’s safety.

Must have the ability to work independently after instructions are given

Most work is inside the school bus in varying degrees of temperature and all types of weather.
MENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
-
9 month employee (Part-time)

Shall be evaluated in accordance with the Zachary Community School Board Personnel Accountability Plan.
